What is an IP address?
An IP address is a public network identifier used by websites and online services to send information back to your device or network. The IP shown above is the address visible to this website, usually assigned by your internet provider, mobile carrier, VPN, proxy, or hosting provider.
How accurate is the location?
IP location is approximate. It usually identifies the country or region of the network provider, but it does not reliably identify a street address or exact physical location.
Does this page show private IPs?
No. A static website can normally see only the public IP address used to access it. Private network addresses such as 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x or 172.16–31.x.x remain behind your router.
Implementation note
This demo uses public client-side APIs. For production accuracy, create your own backend endpoint and use a paid IP intelligence provider for proxy, VPN, blacklist and ASN data.
